Real Reason Segun Adewale claim he is the authentic Lagos PDP Chairman

The battle over the authentic chairman of Lagos state Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party has been on for a while.  A frontline politician, Chief Segun Adewale has described himself as the authentic chairman of Lagos PDP.
He hinged this on the fact that his group emerged after due process from the ward level to state level.
“I, Otunba Segun Adewale, is the authentic chairman of the state executive committee of PDP in Lagos State
“I emerged as chairman from the ward, local and state congresses conducted in Lagos on April 30, May 5 and May 10, 2016 respectively.
“The committee of Mr. Moshood Salvador, Gani Taofiq and others is a fictitious creation of Chief Olabode George and, it has no recognition from any organ of PDP,” he declared yesterday.
Continuing, Adewale, who was the party’s senatorial candidate for Lagos West in the last general election, blamed George for being a cog in the wheel of progress of the party in the last 16 years.
He further alleged that the PDP leader’s personal interest had been detrimental to the party, just as he promised to improve the fortunes of the party ahead of 2019.
“This 2016/2020 executive committee under my leadership is committed to total victory in Lagos come 2019, and we are determined to rid ourselves of the old PDP cabal that led the party astray for 16 years,” he said.
it would be recalled that Segun Adewale started politics as far back as 1988, when he contested and won the Student Union Government of University of Ibadan elections and served as Sports Secretary. In 2007, Segun Adewale ran for the Lagos State House Of Assembly on the Labour Party ticket, but his name was removed from the ballot paper just before the election. He defected from the Labour party to the Alliance for Democracy for some months before defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2011 and ran for the Federal House of Representative, Alimosho Federal Constituency, but lost the election to Solomon Adeola of the Action Congress OF Nigeria. The election was marred by violence.
As a philanthropist, he has contributed to over 40 community projects amongst which are the construction of Mini-Bridge in Meiran, Isei-Oshun in 2011 and he has sponsored over 20 students on full scholarship to different tertiary institutions.
