Not many people know that Pastor E.A. Adeboye and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey have a lot in common. They do. And this is authoritative. At Obeys recent 75th birthday the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Enoch Adeboye, who walked in mid way into the service, looking dapper in a turquoise blue french suit revealed that he hardly goes out on Mondays but he decided to bend his rules by abandoning his schedule for the day to attend Obey’s event because of his love and admiration for him.
The cleric added that he and the musician arrived the world at the same period and walked different paths before both also found their way to Christ.“I have known Obey a very long time since the days of Miliki. I enjoyed everything about his music and we came to the world at the same period. And at the time I was giving my life to Christ, he too was moving in the same direction.“I have to bend the rules to leave the Camp to attend this birthday ceremony because of my love and admiration for Obey’, he said.
The respected man of God was a point of attraction when he walked in at few minutes to 12pm. He sat beside the celebrator who was quite elated to see him.
Those who saw him at the event were marvelled to see this man who hardly attends parties unless he holds you in high esteem, attending a party on a Monday morning. The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Enoch Adeboye, was one of the numerous men of God who were billed to give sermon at the event. His seat was a point of attraction to many who wanted to catch glinpse of him. Many guests had many reasons of wanting to see the respected man of God. Some just wanted to see the highly reverred man of God while some wanted to take pictures with him and receive his blessings. Though only few like the celebrator, Ebenezer Obey, General Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Gospel Act Yinka Ayeyefele and a party town crier (Akigbe) were those who had the opportunity of tapping from the anointing of Daddy G.O.
At few minutes past 1pm, Daddy Adeboye gave a glowing account of who he sees Ebenezer Obey to be and what he has in common with him. The pastor included that he and the performer arrived the world at a similar period and also discovered their approach to Christ . “I have known Obey quite a while since the times of Miliki. I am coming delighted about his music and we came to the world at a similar period. What’s more, at the time I was giving my life to Christ, he too was moving a similar side.
“I need to twist the tenets to leave the Camp to go to this birthday function due to my affection and reverence for Obey’, Mr. Adeboye said.
