How Amosun Saved Female Politician from Mob Attack in Osun

The intervention of the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, saved Ms. Idia Babalola, a former special adviser to Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, from being attacked by a mob at the Ede, Osun State country home of late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, when he attended the final prayers in honour of Adeleke, who died on Sunday.
The crowd of sympathisers became restive, when Babalola came in to attend the Islamic prayers, ahead of the interment of the two-time senator and first elected governor of Osun State.
They demanded that Babalola leave the premises, ignoring pleas from dignitaries, including Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.
When it was apparent that the mob was bent on attacking Babalola, Amosun physically prevented them from carrying out the act, and thereafter led her out of the venue.
The governor thereafter joined others at the final prayers, before the interment of late politician.
