CNPP, PRONACO ADJUDGE ONDO ELECTIONS BEST IN RECENT TMES

The Spokesperson of Pro National Conference Organization, PRONACO, Che Olawale Okunniyi, who recently took over from the National Publicity Secretary of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, Mr Osita Okechuckwu in acting capacity, has acclaimed the just concluded governorship elections in Ondo State as the best conducted by INEC and other critical stakeholders in the Nigerian electoral process in recent times
Addressing the media in Akure on Monday at the end of the governorship elections, Okunniyi who led a formidable team of independent political stakeholders to strengthen the electoral process in Ondo,  asserted that aside for the mindless murder of Chief Afolabi Olaposi, the leader of APC in Igboroko ward of Owo, who was also an ardent supporter of the Governorship Candidate of APC; Barr Rotimi Akeredolu and a two incidences of ballot snatching recorded in the South senatorial district as well as minor complaints about the functionality of the card readers, the Ondo polls could easily have passed for elections in an advanced clime like the united states of America
Leading a combined delegation of stakeholders from the CNPP and PRONACO to observe the Ondo elections, Okunniyi commended the maturity and discipline of stakeholders involved in making the elections a huge success, stressing that they have indeed helped to grow the Nigerian electoral process
He specifically commended the neutrality of the Nigerian presidency of PMB in the Ondo elections as well as their civil society allies such as The Civil Society Situation Room led by Barr Clement Nwankwo, Transistion Monitoring Group, TMG Led by Barr Mrs Abiola Akioyode Afolabi as well as Women Stakeholders in the Stop Violence Against Women Campaign led by Lady Ene Ede among others which contributed immensely to the first class conduct of the Ondo Elections
“We, however, use this occasion to commend the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for the noticeable improvement in its professionalism and technical capacity by navigating the Ondo elections toward a peaceful and credible end.
While also calling on  political gladiators in the Nigeria, especially our political parties, Leaders and candidates who participated in the just concluded elections in Ondo to continue to adhere to the tenets of fair play and internal democracy to avoid the undue and distractive burden usually placed on the Nigerian judiciary, Law Enforcers and the INEC” Okunniyi admonished
